I don't own one because if someone broke in to harm me, I don't want to provide them with the tools!

I dont really like guns but the hubby has some. He likes to go to the range once in awhile. I keep telling him I will shoot with him but I get to scared lol

I grew up around guns and am a pretty good shot if I do say so myself.

I don't currently own any guns and probably never will again. I just don't see them as necessary.

Like Vanessa, though, my son has a TON of airsoft guns. Of course, they are with him, presently, in Alabama, but when he visits he always has one or more with him.
Also, when/if he moves back to my home, I'm sure they'll be in his collection of personal items.

My son's home situation is actually troublesome to me, as there are more than airsoft guns readily available to anyone who wants them, at anytime.

We don't need legislation. We need more responsible people!

WOW is right! What a story, I had no idea you were a marksman(markswoman). The part about the robbery is pretty damn scary, sure glad you made it out okay. I would imagine I would have nightmares too...

I worked for a long time in a profession that necessitated a weapon. I am good with them, but no longer feel the need to carry. Due, in part, to that aforementioned endeavor I still keep one handy in the house though. It's a .45 cal.
I have no intention on shooting someone who just tries to break in. For now, they can be dealt with on other, less deadly ways.

Because of where I live, it was suggested that I have a gun to protect me. I went to the gun/range store looking for a hand gun. I passed the test and I am certified. I even took target practice. I jumped 10 ft. every time a shot was fired, but eventually I settled in. My target had 90% shots in the zone (I am so competitive)! My first target is posted in the window next to my front door.

My point is, and a scary one at that, is the store normally carries 100's of hand guns and firearms. They only had three revolvers! The store was mostly empty of firearms. I talked to the manager and he said," orders are 3-6 mos back logged"! AMERICA IS ARMING ITSELF!!!

I am a product of the 60's, peace and love, I would never arm myself. Now, I am not so sure ;-(

As I said earlier, I won't have a gun because I don't want to provide my intruder with the tool to hurt me. Now, at this age, if someone breaks in, I'll just quickly undress and that will scare the (you know what) out of them! lol
