Networking to Find Work

Is anyone else looking for employment? I would like to open this question up to see if there are people such as myself that are looking and if I could ask this wonderful group of members if we could find out through referrals instead of waiting for internet or paper ads if any businesses are hiring? Maybe someone knows somewhere or someone who has a position opening/open. Perhaps we all can keep ears and eyes out for those that are needing to find their spot...I assume Im not the only one looking....Not sure where to start this...so thought I would post it here...
By the way I am looking for a medical billing/coding/office/receptionist position.

My son came back from working 20 month in Iraq in electrical and communication installation and the job market is very depressed. Several employers have told him that they need the help, but are leery about hiring and then may have to layoff. I network families who have special needs people and there again are the cutbacks. I have some wonderful friends that would be able to fullfill many caregiving/childcare positions part/fulltime, day/or night. Then there are the teachers. Very sad time for many, we really need to network to get through this.

I'll second Karen's recommendation that you get out there and network. You never know who you'll meet and who they might know. Good luck in your job searchs... in the meantime, enjoy summer. And I'll be keeping my ears open.

im very seriously thiniking of starting a housekeeping/orginizing company, many retired men from the elks lodge need housekeepers, and a long family friend will be reitring her housekeeping business in 6months, and she has offered me her clients. now ill admit, ive never thought of my own company, dont know the first thing about ''selling myself'' dont even have business cards, but since ive been at my dads here, people are seeing what i can do . its like the universe is dropping this housekeeping businessinto my lap and id be stupid not to listen to the signs!!
any thoughts? i know im a very good, hard worker,ive always had a knack for orginizing major messes in a snap.the techicals of business kid of excapes me,but i do learn fast. so illneed some ladiesand even men that dont mind getting their hands dirty and working hard. must be honest!! NO THEIVES..
any thoughts?
