A place to meet your neighbors & exchange ideas

I have come to town to visit relitaves for the holidays.
I will be going home soon. The real world is a nice place to visit. But I have no desire to live here.
Where I live I have no modern conveniences.
No electricity, phone, running water, television or internet.
I chop my own firewood. I carry my water from a hand dug well. I walk almost everywhere I go. The food I eat I grow or kill myself. Sometimes I trade with my neighbors.
I have not been out in the real world for some time. When I return home. I donot plan to return any time soon.
Ignorance (of some things) is bliss.
If - when the crash comes. I will not be effected as much as those of you who live outhere. Learn your skills and be prepaired. If the crash comes? This will turn into a harsh place overnite.

Your point being?

My point is. Some of us do live the simple life. There has been much talk about getting back to a more primitave way of life here. Some people seem to think there will not be much change. Some seem to believe that they can plant a garden in the back yard and live off of it.
I am just trying to exchange information about some of the differences they will face if they decide to go back to a simpler way of life.
You will gain some things and loose some others.
As someone with experence. I may be able to help someone decide if they want to make the tradeoff.

I am flattered that some of you put me in the same class as Henrey.
We were raised by the same people and share beliefs. But I am not anywhere as intune to the real world as He.
Thanks for the complement.

Similarities are uncanny;-)

Spelling and sentence structure bear a strong family resemblance.

And nobody but Dave could misspell Henry. ;)

We love you, Dave.

Well, I too am suspecting that "Henrey Hawk" is an alias, not unlike Murdock Greenwhistle or Stimulus Bill or hundreds of other CCT participants who choose to operate under an alias. In this case, Henery Hawk is a cute little chicken hawk from Looney Tunes as far back as 1942. I can't imagine someone would really be given that name at birth.

In any case, I don't really care. The fact that "Henery" came out to play with us for a while is great and I wish him well. He did no harm.

Alias?? No Alter ego YES!
I have lived as Henrey does in the past.
Responcibilitys forced me back into this world.
I will return to the good life as soon as possible.
Until then the fantasy will have to do.
By the way. Henrey is not misspelled. When I was a small child my Grandma gave me that nickname. At that time I wore glasses and ran in circles. Just like the little chicken hawk in the funny papers.
I am as much Henrey as you are Stimulus or Murdock.
We love you guys too.

I had to go check myself about the spelling of Henrey.
I am correct in the spelling of the name of the little chicken hawk.
Wikipedia has quite a lot of information about Henrey.
