Any singles out there should know about the Singles Gift Exchange going on Dec 22 in SLO at the Clubhouse. I posted details in the events, you can check it out there as Singles Gift Exchange for a Blues Christmas. There will be world class blues music coming in from the bar and we can join in the club when we are done. Check it out!

Yesterday was the Greek Festival in the SLO Mission Plaza. A small event but a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Native costumes and dances. A great event. Today was also a full day. Seems like most of my weekends are full anymore. There is always so much to do. The Grover Beach Garden tour is one of my favorite annual events, even when the gardens are not spectacular, it is still fun to look at what other people do with their yards. Then after that I went to the Grover Beach Sizzling Summer Series. The Cadillac Angels performed. I had never heard them before. Where the heck have I been? They are SOOOOO good. I even bougth 2 of their CD's. Next Sunday "Up In The Air" will perform at the Grover Beach Sizzling Summer Series. Have not heard or seen them either. This may be another pleasant experience. Is there anything else going on that we need to hear about?

June's Non-profit of the month!

Woods Humane Society, Inc. is a nonprofit, privately funded organization dedicated to the humane care of unwanted animals in San Luis Obispo County. Our Staff, volunteers, and board of directors are dedicated to upholding our Mission and preserving the welfare of our present and future animals.

While we cooperate with the State Humane Association of California, the American Humane Association, and The Humane Society of the United States, Woods does not receive financial support from them. Only 20% of our revenues to care for the animals are generated by service fees, the other 80% is generated from fund-raising events, grants, wills, and mainly community donations.

Woods Humane Society is proud to be a leader among the nation's humane organizations. Thanks to loyal and broad-based community support, and the diligent efforts of our dedicated staff and volunteers, Woods placement rate in fiscal 07/08 was 94%, an outstanding achievement.

None of this work could be completed without the incredible support of our community and our wonderful volunteers.

Finn's is a fun place! I hope to make it there next month too. Everyone should come out to mix and mingle with Adele and Edie! See you then!

I forgot to mention what time we meet at Fin's. We get there between 5:00 & 5:30 and either have a sign up or a balloon. Some of us eat, others just enjoy a beverage. Then we decide where we want to go to from there. We have generally left by about 8:00 to take in some other activity. The Graduate, etc. Hope to see you there next month.
