Comment by david rosenthal on August 22, 2009 at 8:34am: This Sunday will be the last free music event at Salisbury Vineyards for the summer so join in a walk to Avila Beach first and lunch at the deli on the trail. Meet in the parking lot at 9am at the Bob Jones trail head.

Grand Ave. to Pismo Pier hike; (E)
The hike is a boardwalk hike to the Pismo pier traveling through the Monarch grove and the campground area. It continues past a seasonal river and leads along the edge of the sand.
We will turn around at the pier and walk back along the waters edge (optional) or the way we came.
The elevation gain is minimal and is a 3-4 mile round trip.
It is an awesome walk, especially at sunset.

Directions; Take the 101 fwy to Grand Ave and exit west to the beach. Follow Grand Ave. until your hat is floating and back-up a block to Finn’s restaurant. We will start there.
